Executive produced by Spike Lee, Barry Alexander Brown’s drama features fine performances across the board, and a vivid evocation of a tumultuous period.
"Son of the South" made headlines this past fall from Berlin to Rome, and across Europe. It was awarded “Film of the Year” and “Best Ensemble Cast” by the Artisans Festival International World Peace Initiative (AFIWPI) during the Cannes Film Festival. The film has screened at the Deauville Film Festival, in Toulouse and Pessac at the International Historic Film Festivals.
