Film Mode Cannes slate features Jeremy Piven thriller ‘Past Life’
EXCLUSIVE: Screen has obtained the first-look image of Jeremy Piven in the thriller Past Life, one of several new titles on the Cannes sales roster at Clay Epstein’s Film Mode Entertainment.
The slate includes Cuba Gooding Jr. sci-fi Quantum Supremacy, thriller Speak Up, and horror 13 Souls.
Past Life follows an investigative reporter, played by Aneurin Barnard, who witnesses a murder through the eyes of a psychotic killer while under hypnosis at an event. He partners with the hypnotist (Piven) to use past life regression techniques to investigate a series of unsolved murders from the 1980s, unwittingly reawakening a psychotic killer’s tendencies.
Follows the story of the loyal women of an organized crime family that dominated some of the boroughs of New York City in the late 20th century.

EXCLUSIVE: Margaret Colin (Independence Day) has signed on to lead the indie flick Tox.
Written and directed by Kerri Lynn Miller in her feature directorial debut, the film also stars Gracie McGraw. Miller also stars in the film. Her acting credits include FBI: Most Wanted, The Blacklist, and Shades of Blue.
The film follows a perfection-obsessed woman who, after decades of transforming herself, eagerly returns to her high school reunion— convinced that her newfound beauty will rewrite her past and win the validation she believes will fix her life.
“Tox explores the addictive nature of perfectionism and the devastating grip of body dysmorphia, a condition that affects over 10 million people in the U.S. alone,” Miller said in a statement. “This film is a deeply personal, thrilling, and thought-provoking examination of society’s obsession with beauty, and self-worth.”
